The statues above the left hand door to the choir are St Angelus of Jerusalem, an early Carmelite who rebuked a Sicilian peasant in 1220 and who died of the beating that resulted, by Alessandro Rondoni, and St Albert the Great who is the patron of scientists, by Michel Maille.
